Large bug when upgrading from 1.7.17 to 1.7.18

I think that I found a bug when upgrading from 1.7.17 to 1.7.18 using apt on Ubuntu 22.04.

If you upgrade from 1.7.17 to 1.7.18 it seems that your .htaccess file get whipped out and will most likely severely impact your site

I'm using the Example folder, not sure if that's what's causing this.

Update: I moved everything out of the Example vhost folder, into a separate folder, and performed the upgrade again via apt. No issues at all.
Something in the package script must overwrite stuff in the example vhost. It probably wasn't a good idea for me to stand the website up there in the first place.
