Activating Object Cache makes server laggy

I have followed the following how-tos to install and configure object caching (using LSMCD) on a wordpress website:

The website is still up and seems to be responsive but ssh sessions, webguis and such have become very laggy. Of course I checked the server load and such but it seems fine.

What exactly do you mean "lagy"? what command did you run and what 's the technical result for that "lagy"?

At the moment it seems, that this lag was permanent but I believe it got laggy in the beginning only when we initially created the object cache it has normalized for now, will keep monitoring it.
