Slowdowns? Worsening? bad things I don't know about?
problems if I remove mariadb-server and then install mysql-server and re-import all the dbs? (with OLS already installed and a lot of websites/virtualhost configured)

That's nothing related to OLS. Migrating from MariaDB to MySQL, you first need to check the compatibility. Recent versions of MariaDB and MySQL have different functions, which might lead to problems with your websites.
that's why i want to change... before i used mysql on my lamp and now i have a lot of compatibility problems with mariadb... follow the installation guides was a mistake... but i wasn't sure mysql works... next time i ask before...
