How to block bad user agents?

How we can block bad user agents from web scanners/bots on openlitespeed ?

you can use rewriterule.

example code:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "bad-agent1|bad-agent2"
RewriteRule /(.*)$ - [L,F]

So creating an .htaccess on the root of my files and adding this info inside it will be ok?

open litespeed not support .htaccess
so add the rule at virtual level:
web admin -> Virtual Hosts -> your virtual host -> Rewrite

This is a fairly old post but because it has a high rank in google search and the final comment is wrong, I would like to notice that .htaccess work with openlitespeed, but only rewrite rules are valid (the rest like filesmatch checks and deny directives will be ignored).

.htaccess for rewrite rules (for all kind of redirections) work perfectly fine.

I am facing same issue!!
When i disable cache it works fine, and if enable cache not blocking.

Have you tried to put the rules at the top of the .htaccess file? Does it work?
