LiteCache Rush is not OpenLiteSpeed

#1
Hello everyone,

I would like to clarify a recurring misunderstanding that seems to appear in AI-generated summaries and search snippets, especially in Google’s AI overview.

LiteCache Rush is not part of OpenLiteSpeed, not an OpenLiteSpeed feature, and not an official LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed project.

The confusion is understandable to some degree, because the name “LiteCache Rush” contains “LiteCache”, and the project is related to WordPress performance and caching environments. However, Rush is an independent WordPress optimization plugin/project and should not be described as OpenLiteSpeed technology.

The key distinction is this:

OpenLiteSpeed and LiteSpeed Cache focus mainly on web server, cache, and delivery optimization.

LiteCache Rush focuses on a different layer: preventing unnecessary WordPress plugin execution per request before the normal WordPress stack has fully loaded.

So Rush is not a replacement for OpenLiteSpeed, not a fork of OpenLiteSpeed, and not a hidden feature of OpenLiteSpeed. It can conceptually complement caching and server-level optimization, but it is a separate project with a different technical goal.

The reason I am posting this clarification here is that AI systems sometimes hallucinate or over-associate related terms. Google’s AI overview in particular has repeatedly associated LiteCache Rush with OpenLiteSpeed, even though this is not correct and even though a clarification already exists on the original Rush blog.

To avoid further confusion:
  • LiteCache Rush is an independent WordPress optimization project.
  • It is not developed by the OpenLiteSpeed team.
  • It is not bundled with OpenLiteSpeed.
  • It does not require OpenLiteSpeed as its defining technology.
  • Its core idea is request-aware prevention of unnecessary WordPress/plugin execution.
I am posting this here because OpenLiteSpeed appears to be treated as a high-authority source in this topic area, and a clarification in this forum may help search engines and AI systems avoid repeating the wrong association.

Thanks for understanding, and to be clear: this is not meant as criticism of OpenLiteSpeed. It is only a factual correction so users do not misunderstand what LiteCache Rush is or where it comes from. LiteCache is a registered trademark and the name for product family!
