    Fixed Admin credentials

Oh, I see. Let me get this right, though: You updated LSWS Standard Edition 4.2.4 to OpenLiteSpeed? We've never tried that (though it's certainly a logical step to take). How did you do it? Did you run yum update or yum install or just do it yourself? m

    .htaccess patch/plugin

Hey Octy, So, how do you feel about Nginx Plus?

    Lies, damned lies, and benchmarks

We're willing and I think you're right about a lot of things. It is very time consuming to do good benchmarks, though. We're hoping to have some out soon, and then I will keep pushing to have them meet your standards. Keep pushing for what you want. We can't spend all our time on benchmarks, but...

    .htaccess patch/plugin

Howdy Octy, It's still a ways off, but there's been some talk about partial support of .htaccess, like a feature that would search and use .htaccess settings when you told it to (but might require a restart). This means that when you update something, you run the feature and do a restart and...

    Hi all !

Howdy Octy, We'll be working on addressing the dearth of benchmarks. Well, actually, more on that in the benchmark thread you started. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet... m

build_admin_php.php not updating Admin PHP binary ?

I'm baaa-ack. Sorry about that. I was totally absorbed in another project. But I'm basically done with that now. OK. Let me see if I can get this right (with some help from our George): /usr/local/lsws/lsphp5/bin/php is where LSPHP is installed. It is actually compiled under...

    .htaccess support

Hey OC2PS, Sorry I haven't been around and sorry I can't write much more on this (partially because I can't reveal too much about our internal deliberations that haven't been finished, partially because I'm really under the gun for something we're trying to finish before cPanel conference in a...

    .htaccess support

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back. OC2PS, I don't see why you're stumped by the .htaccess decision. You summed up our rationale yourself: You try to allay our worries by saying But I think you're underestimating how restrictive the limits on Standard are. 150 connections isn't much...

    Going on Vacation

Busy last day... Quick replies: George, You're crazy. Unshrivel, man! It's great. Slavik, Don't... break... anything. I know what country you live in. Fearless, I don't want access to the Internet. It's bad for me. But, yes, even if I did have access I would tell everyone that I don't. I...

    Going on Vacation

Hey guys, Just thought I'd let you know that I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. We're going to Japan to visit my wife's family. I'll be gone until the 9th and my wife's mother doesn't really have Internet access (which is great, by the way, you should really try it). Just wanted you guys to...

How often does build_admin_php.sh PHP_VERSION get updated ?

Alright. You got me interested. I'll look into how hard it will be to make sure the admin PHP is updated more often.

    OpenLiteSpeed Yum Repository Available

Nope. We just went through it (and did some tweaking to the RPM) to make sure. Upgrading a source compiled version through yum should keep all your configurations, passwords, etc...

build_admin_php.php not updating Admin PHP binary ?

Howdy George, So, (our) George tried to answer this in the Google Group, but it seems there was some sort of miscommunication. Honestly, I don't understand what happened, so I'll just start from the beginning: build_admin_php.sh builds the Admin PHP (the PHP that the WebAdmin console uses)...

How often does build_admin_php.sh PHP_VERSION get updated ?

Howdy George, Does it feel that much faster? We generally felt like it wasn't worth updating the Admin PHP too often... Michael

Why not dynamically set the number of workers at install time ?

Thanks for the link. An interesting idea. Again, I'll push it to the developers. If they don't have any objections, we'll try to put it in.

For issues and bug reports wouldn't it be better to centralise it to the official OLS git repository

As George said on the Google Group, Yes. Please, that would make things easier to keep track of. I'll put that on the site.

Why not dynamically set the number of workers at install time ?

Right now you can bind specific listeners to specific worker processes, but what you want is to define which worker process goes to which CPU?

    SPDY Disabled Yum Installs

Ummm... Guys? I realized something today when I read this post. You don't need to install OpenSSL 1.0.1 if you install OpenLiteSpeed from the RPM. If you install it from the RPM, it comes with the required OpenSSL library for SPDY. So you don't need to install OpenSSL 1.0.1... It should just...

Why not dynamically set the number of workers at install time ?

Nail on the head. (And database processes.) You almost certainly don't want OpenLiteSpeed running on all your processors. Unless you're just sending out static files, you're going to have other processes that are more taxing for your system. Thus it's better to save some of your processors for...
